C6 Corvette Öhlins DFV Coilovers - Engineered by Kraken Motorsports

This kit is intended for the STEEL FRAME C5, Base C6, and Grand Sport C6 Chassis.  This kit will *not* fit C6 Z06, and C6 ZR1 Aluminum Frame chassis (you can find our C6 Z06/ZR1 remote-canister variant kit HERE. The remote canister kit is reverse compatible with standard steel chassis as well, and requires no modifications to the steel chassis front upper mount, but is a more expensive alternative to the steel frame kit).

We don’t believe in having you dig through forums to try to figure out what spring rates, ride heights and settings other people think are comfortable or easy to drive.  For the FD RX-7, we are offering two specially tailored spring rate combinations to suite the vast majority of customer’s applications.  Each kit includes a detailed assembly guide including preload and free-length settings to achieve your specified ride height.

FPSpëc Grand Touring

Perfect for the backroads Corvette, the best possible balance of body control and ride quality.  Extremely capable for the occasional weekend track day.

Derived from Öhlins Racing heritage, the DFV is uniquely able to provide the damping support needed to snake through a slalom at an autocross yet being silky smooth while attacking the apex curbs at the track. High Torque, Non-Marring Adjustment Spanners

When it comes time to make adjustments, we’ve designed an exclusive non-marring high-torque adjustment spanner to avoid damaging the spring perches. With multiple engagement teeth, it provides positive engagement to avoid slippage and protect your knuckles from the wrath of punching a control arm. A 14mm open end wrench is provided for quick removal of the damper adjustment knob. Also includes a 3/8” breaker-bar attachment for pesky long stuck jam nuts and finally a bottle opener for those long nights in a cold garage.

For customers not in our area, we can fully assemble your FPSpëc Suspension and provide a ready to install kit, simply bolt in the suspension and make a visit to your local alignment specialist.

Designing a shock dedicated for either street use or performance use is relatively simple. However, creating a single damper that is effective in both arenas is significantly more challenging from an engineering perspective.  Öhlins' exclusive patented Dual Flow Valve (DFV) technology, along with precision machining, internal seals, and Öhlins buttery smooth 1304  shock oil, yields an ultra-low hysteresis shock which can damp bumps over fractions of a millimeter.  For the end-user, the result is a suspension that provides maximum grip in the corners, yet a firm-but-supple ride quality on the street.  Those who have driven this setup have commented that the Kraken Motorsports Ohlins kit is surprisingly more comfortable than stock, yet one of the highest grip/performing coilovers they've driven. Best of both worlds!
